HIGHLAND, Calif. (KABC) -- Two people have been shot and wounded in a pawn shop robbery in Highland on Thursday, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department.

Deputies responded to Tony's Jewelry and Loan Pawnshop in the 26000 block of Highland Avenue after being notified of a silent alarm around 11:15 a.m.

Authorities said three male suspects entered through the front door and were able to bypass a secondary security door.

"The suspects were able to enter in through the first glass door in the front of the business. Then once you get in to that glass door, there is a caged area and it's believed that the suspect's climbed over that fence," said Jodi Miller, with the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department.

Gold rings were seen scattered around the store. Friends and family members quickly arrived and tried to get answers, and people who live in the area said they were stunned.

Maria Arias lives near the store and said she's been in it a few times. She thinks she might know the man and woman who were shot.

"They were very polite. They were Asian people, and it was a couple. They seemed very nice," she said.

One of the victims is in serious condition, while the other is in critical condition.

The suspects in the shooting have not been located, officials said. They were last seen driving a bright green four-door Honda Civic with no plates.
