Police arrest stolen vehicle suspect after chase through Hollywood

HOLLYWOOD, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A driver surrendered after Los Angeles police chased the man suspected of vehicle theft through the Hollywood area on a busy Friday night.

The pursuit began near Alvarado and 7th streets at MacArthur Park. The vehicle was described as a four-door gray Chevy with paper plates.

Two suspects were believed to be in the vehicle at the outset of the pursuit, but at its conclusion, only one man was taken into custody. The chase ended in a neighborhood near the Hollywood Bowl.

Police recovered an item that was thrown from the vehicle in the early part of the chase. The item has not been identified.
