ANAHEIM, Calif. (KABC) -- An old motel in Anaheim that had become a haven for drugs and squatters has been torn down to make way for new businesses.

Lyndy's Motel had been abandoned for six months and was causing issues for police, who were responding to an increased volume of 911 calls at the location.

City officials hope to see the area around the motel revitalized.
