PUERTO RICO (KABC) -- Passengers on a Delta Airlines flight were part of a terrifying scene in the middle of Hurricane Irma.

A flight touched down at Puerto Rico's airport in San Juan just as the storm was heading in. Airplane staff hurried passengers off the plane, unloaded their luggage and boarded new passengers within 50 minutes.

Flight Radar 24 tracked the plane as it took off into the outer bands of the storm. It landed safely at John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York about four hours later.
