Jennifer Aniston has opened up about her failed attempts to get pregnant, saying she has "zero regrets" about a difficult period in her life.

Speaking to journalist Danielle Pergament for an Allure magazine cover story, Aniston recounted how she had "gone through really hard sh*t" in her late 30s and 40s, but it made her the person she is today.

"That's why I have such gratitude for all those s----y things. Otherwise, I would've been stuck being this person that was so fearful, so nervous, so unsure of who they were," she said. "And now, I don't f-----g care."

Aniston went on to explain that she was referring to a period in which she was trying to get pregnant.

"All the years and years and years of speculation... It was really hard. I was going through IVF, drinking Chinese teas, you name it. I was throwing everything at it," Aniston said.

"I would've given anything if someone had said to me, 'Freeze your eggs. Do yourself a favor.' You just don't think it. So here I am today. The ship has sailed."

However, Aniston said it's good to finally have some closure.

"I have zero regrets," she said. "I actually feel a little relief now because there is no more, 'Can I? Maybe. Maybe. Maybe.' I don't have to think about that anymore."

Later in the interview, Aniston talked about her divorce from Justin Theroux in 2018, and addressed speculation that the pair broke up because she "wouldn't give him a kid."

"It was absolute lies," she said. "I don't have anything to hide at this point."

Pergament asked Aniston whether she would get married again.

"Never say never, but I don't have any interest," she said. "I'd love a relationship. Who knows? There are moments I want to just crawl up in a ball and say, 'I need support.' It would be wonderful to come home and fall into somebody's arms and say, 'That was a tough day.'"

Aniston also spoke frankly about her dislike of social media, saying she only joined Instagram in order to launch her LolaVie haircare line.

"I hate social media. I'm not good at it," she said, despite the fact that Instagram crashed when she opened an account as so many people tried to follow her.

"It's torture for me. The reason I went on Instagram was to launch this line," she said. "Then the pandemic hit and we didn't launch. So I was just stuck with being on Instagram. It doesn't come naturally."
