JOSHUA TREE NATIONAL PARK (KABC) -- An entrance fee increase to Joshua Tree National Park will take effect beginning June 1.

Single vehicle entrance will rise from $25 to $30. Park officials suggest purchasing an annual pass if you plan on visiting Joshua Tree more than once.

An annual pass lasts a year and currently goes for $40, and increases to $55 on June 1.

Money raised from the fee hikes will be used for renovation projects, new parking and visitor centers and more.
