SEPULVEDA BASIN (KABC) -- A swift-water rescue team plucked a man and his dog from the Los Angeles River in the Sepulveda Basin on Tuesday morning as a major winter storm brought torrential rain to the Southland.
Los Angeles Fire Department personnel used an inflatable boat to reach the man and his pet, who were stranded in rising waters about 20 feet offshore. The scene was just south of Lake Balboa, near the 6100 block of Balboa Boulevard.
