Traffic resumes at LAX after bomb squad investigation halts airport for several hours

LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Terminal 1 of LAX International Airport was partially evacuated and had traffic halted for several hours as the bomb squad investigated an unattended suspicious package Friday night.

At around 11:10 p.m. Friday night, LAX tweeted that the police activity had concluded and the airport would be returning to normal.

No threats were associated with the package, according to the LAPD.

AIR7HD captured traffic heading to the airport on Sepulveda Boulevard backed up for miles as the upper deck to all of the airport's terminals remained closed.

Flights have been delayed across the board, making the Friday before the Juneteenth holiday weekend a travel nightmare.
