Father and son shot at fruit stand on street corner in Long Beach

LONG BEACH, Calif. (KABC) -- A father and son were shot at a fruit stand on a Long Beach street corner Friday night, and were taken to the hospital in critical condition.

The father and his juvenile son were purchasing from the vendor when they were shot the corner of Orange Avenue and Market Street, according to the Long Beach Police Department.

The two victims have not been identified, but authorities believe they were targeted. However, an exact motive was not provided.

Eyewitnesses say two people ran from the shooting scene and now a search is underway for the gunmen.
