Witnesses told ABC7 that an unidentified woman began pounding on the front doors of homes in the neighborhood, demanding to enter or insisting that the residents owed her money.
""And I came out and I saw some of the tenants, and one of the tenants said she was trying to get into the house and he was almost attacked by this woman who yelling, 'Where's my money! Where's my money!" said Eileen Gelso of Long Beach.
One resident told the woman to leave, and as the woman was leaving a female resident pulled into her driveway. The woman ran up to the arriving resident and prevented her from exiting the vehicle, witnesses said.

The woman then allegedly pulled the driver out of the vehicle and began beating her with a stick. The victim screamed for help, prompting several neighbors to come outside.
One of those neighbors was a man armed with a handgun, who ordered the assailant to stop, according to witnesses. The woman then allegedly charged toward the man, who fired one shot. The woman fell to the ground and was later pronounced dead at the scene.
No arrest was announced and the investigation at the scene continued throughout the morning.
