As a massive earthquake struck Mexico Tuesday - which followed a larger one earlier this month in the country - Southern California residents are anxious about when the "big one" will hit.

The most important things you should put in an earthquake kit are the following:

Cash
Canned food
Water
Can opener
Flashlight or glow sticks or candles with waterproof matches
Extra pair of shoes should be by your bed
Gloves
Masks
