Make-A-Wish fulfills sick 12-year-old's wish to 'blow stuff up'

The Make-A-Wish foundation has enabled sick children to meet their heroes and travel to destinations across the globe. But Declan, a 12-year-old battling leukemia, had a much different wish: to "blow stuff up."

Through Make-A-Wish Australia, Declan was able to test out explosives with members of police. The 12-year-old also met with members of the US Marine Corps and even got to ride on a boat with the water police.

"What inspired Declan's wish I think was for him to do something different and something to take his mind off his illness," his mother Belinda said. "This experience will affect Declan in a really positive way."
