The man was attacked shortly before 11 p.m. Wednesday near San Gabriel River Parkway and Beverly Boulevard, Los Angeles County sheriff's officials said.
Responding deputies found the victim lying in the street, suffering from apparent stab wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
There is no suspect description and the weapon has not been recovered.
