Chase ends after driver and passenger abandon reported stolen car in Panorama City

LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A dangerous chase through the San Fernando Valley Wednesday night ended with the driver and his passenger ditching a reported stolen car and making a run for it.

The driver sped on surface streets, cut off other drivers and made wild U-turns in a desperate attempt to escape police.

But the chase came to an end after one of the car's wheels appeared to be damaged. It was then that the male driver and his female passenger abandoned the Honda on Roscoe Boulevard in Panorama City and tried hiding out by the Tujunga Wash.



They then moved to a nearby residential neighborhood, where police searched for several minutes.

Police eventually tracked the passenger and took her into custody. It's unclear if the driver has been apprehended.

The chase stayed mostly in the Panorama City and North Hills neighborhoods.
