Witnesses told Eyewitness News that members with the U.S. Marshals Task Force tried to take someone into custody as they exited a medical building, that person ran back into the building and the shooting occurred.

The U.S. Marshals Service says agents were attempting to arrest a fugitive out of Nebraska wanted for Marijuana Distribution and Money Laundering charges. The suspect, who has not been identified, brandished a firearm during the attempted arrest, according to the U.S. Marshals Service.

"A deputy United States Marshal and a Special Agent from Homeland Security Investigations subsequently discharged their firearms," said the U.S. Marshals Service in a press release. "The Special Agent was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries."

According to witnesses, another person was injured, possibly after being bitten by a dog belonging to the U.S. Marshals Service. It was not immediately clear if that person was connected to the suspect.
