BUENA PARK, Calif. (KABC) -- Porto's Bakery, a popular Southern California Cuban chain, will be opening its very first location in Orange County on Wednesday.

The ovens were heating up and last-minute preps were underway for the grand opening of its new Buena Park location, located at 7640 Beach Boulevard.

The ribbon cutting ceremony at the 25,000 square foot location will kick off at 10 a.m. Cuban-American actor Andy Garcia was expected to appear.

Owner Margarita Navarro said the excitement keeps building as loyal customers gather outside the restaurant.

"It's tremendous, the support we get from our customers. They'll come out here from everywhere just to be here with us and support us because it's like family," she said.

The restaurant was set to open to the public at noon, following the opening ceremony.

Porto's is popular for its Cuban sandwiches, their famous potato balls and other savory pastries. Its other locations can be found in Downey, Burbank and Glendale.
