SOUTH GATE, Calif. (KABC) -- One man was killed and another was hospitalized following a business dispute at a South Gate body shop Wednesday night.

South Gate police originally responded to a "man with a knife" call at a body shop in the 4900 block of Mason Street shortly before 6 p.m., according to a press release from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

The incident apparently started with a business dispute over missing auto parts when two men were arguing with another man inside the business and then pulled out knives.

The victim's nephew witnessed the incident, grabbed a gun and shot both suspects, killing one of them.

The other suspect was hurt with unknown injuries, and the victim sustained minor injuries, according to sheriff's officials.
