Los Angeles County Sheriff's deputies responded around 3 a.m. to the area of Charles Willard Street and Harmen Avenue. When deputies arrived, they found three people who had been shot.
Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel treated all three victims at the scene. Two were transported to a hospital, while the third person was pronounced dead at the scene, officials said.
The two sent to the hospital were listed in critical condition.
"Investigators have learned four additional gunshot victims that were self-transported to local area hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries," said the sheriff's department in an update issued Sunday afternoon.
"There were numerous onlookers present, and investigators are urging anyone who was at the takeover to come forward with any information."
Authorities have not released information about any suspects or arrests. The investigation is ongoing.
