17 arrested in IE train burglaries, more than $437,000 in cash and stolen goods recovered

SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. (KABC) -- Seventeen suspects were arrested in connection with recent train burglaries in the Victor Valley area and more than $437,000 in cash and stolen goods were recovered, authorities said.

The San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department said its Rural Crimes Task Force made the arrests on Wednesday while serving three search warrants in Victorville and Hesperia.

Along with the recovered cash and stolen property, authorities said eight illegal firearms were also seized.

All of the stolen property was returned to Burlington Northern Santa Fe railroad police, according to a Sheriff's Department news release.

Law enforcement seized approximately $61,200 in U.S. currency and recovered stolen property valued at an estimated $376,618.
