Moreno Valley crash: 17-year-old ejected from car after driver loses control on 60 Freeway

MORENO VALLEY, Calif. (KABC) -- A 17-year-old boy was killed in a solo-car crash on the 60 Freeway in Moreno Valley.

The deadly incident happened around 9:40 p.m. Sunday near Heacock Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The agency says the adult driver of a Tesla was speeding and attempted to pass traffic on the right shoulder of the freeway when he lost control and crashed into the guardrail.

The teenage rear passenger was ejected from the car and died.

The driver was severely injured, as well as two other passengers. A third passenger avoided any injury.



A loaded firearm was found in the car, the CHP said.
