HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. (KABC) -- Two homes were damaged when a 17-year-old crashed into them in Huntington Beach.

The crash happened shortly after 10:30 p.m. Friday on Newland Street, according to Huntington Beach police.

Two homes were hit by the car, and the driver and an 18-year-old passenger were transported to a nearby hospital, police said.

Investigators believe the teen slammed into the homes after losing control while driving at a high rate of speed. They do not believe the driver was impaired.

The people in the homes were not hurt, but their properties did suffer damage.

The teenage driver was cited for driving without a license and reckless driving, according to police. He was released to his parents.
