2 men, 1 woman found dead after desert shooting near Lancaster, deputies say

LANCASTER, Calif. (KABC) -- Three people are dead after shooting in the Lake Los Angeles area near Lancaster, and the suspected shooter remained outstanding Monday.

Deputies responded to reports of gunshots at 215th Street East and East Avenue Q around 5 p.m. Sunday, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

When they arrived, they found three people with fatal gunshot wounds in two separate cars. They have only been identified as a 44-year-old man, a 65-year-old woman and a second man believed to be in his 40s.

Deputies believe a suspect approached in their own vehicle and opened fire on the victims before taking off.

An investigation is underway to determine a motive for the shooting. A description of the suspect was not available.
