2 people extricated after violent multi-vehicle crash in Northridge

NORTHRIDGE, Calif. (KABC) -- Two people were extricated after a violent multi-vehicle crash in Northridge Monday evening.

The crash happened on Balboa Boulevard just before 8 p.m.

Two of the vehicles involved ended up in the front yards of homes on either side of the boulevard while a badly damaged SUV stood right in the middle of the road.

First responders extricated two people who were then taken to the hospital.

The condition of the victims was not immediately known.



The crash and the response to it shut down Balboa Boulevard between Rayen and Parthenia streets for several hours.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
