3.5 magnitude earthquake rattles South Pasadena area, USGS says

SOUTH PASADENA, Calif. (KABC) -- A 3.5 magnitude earthquake struck the South Pasadena area Sunday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The quake hit just before 10 a.m. at a depth of about seven miles. It was centered some 2 and a half miles from South Pasadena.

Viewers reported feeling shaking in Los Feliz, Commerce, Highland Park and as far as Montebello. It was described as a quick jolt.



No damage or injuries were reported as a result.



At Holy Family Church in South Pasadena, Msg. Clement Connolly was in the middle of delivering his Sunday sermon when the building started shaking around him. He paused briefly looked around and quipped, "Must be a sign."

Some members of the congregation grabbed on to the pews during the shaking, but then Sunday Mass continued.
