Festivities kickoff with a 40th annual Children's festival at Buffalo Park from 10 a.m. to noon, a patriotic Dinghy Parade at 2 p.m. and a fireworks show over Isthmus Cove starting around 9 p.m.
Saturday, July 4 -- Avalon
Start the day with a mermaid meet and greet on Middle Beach at 9 a.m., followed by a home and business decorating contest, a golf cart parade, live music and more. End the night with a fireworks show over Avalon Bay around 9 p.m.

The 53rd annual "Let Freedom Ring Celebration" will feature food trucks, game booths, rides and a fireworks show at 9 p.m. All-day ride wristbands are available for $45 through July 2 at the Recreation Services Division counter at Cerritos City Hall. Individual tickets are $2, 20 tickets are $35, and 50 tickets are $60.

Activities begin at 7 a.m.
Enjoy a day packed with festivities, including a 1K Kids Fun Run, 5K Race, flag raising ceremony, live entertainment and more. Head over to Pomona College Strehle Track (522 N. Mills Ave.) for a concert and fireworks show at 9 p.m. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased online or at the Alexander Hughes Community Center.

Noon to 10 p.m.
This two-day carnival will feature rides, games, food trucks and live music. Rides are free for Commerce residents with a current Resident Activity Card and two-day wristbands are $20 for non-residents, available for purchase on the day of the event. A fireworks show will take place on Friday, July 3 at 9 p.m., followed by a laser light show on Saturday, July 4 at 9 p.m.

El Segundo residents can get a maximum of four free wristbands per adult with a valid Rec ID Card. Nonresidents can purchase event wristbands for $5.
