A significant weather system moved through Southern California on Monday afternoon, bringing isolated thunderstorms, lightning, heavy rain and even hail to some communities.

Shortly before 2 p.m., a Flood Advisory was issued for parts of the San Fernando Valley as heavy rain moved through. The advisory has since expired.

AIR7 video from above the area shows dark clouds covering the sky as the system began to move in. With strong winds, the storm quickly moved toward the northeast.

An Eyewitness News viewer shared photos of hail that fell in the North Hills area.

In Reseda, a photographer captured the moment lightning flashed through the sky as he drove through the San Fernando Valley.

The majority of the heavy rain had moved out of our area by the late afternoon, leaving sunny skies behind for many. Still, some moisture remains in the air, and some communities could continue to see scattered showers.
