VAN NUYS, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Anheuser-Busch is investing millions of dollars in its brewery in Van Nuys, which means job security and more high-quality products as Southern California prepares to host the 2026 World Cup and the 2028 Summer Olympics.

Beer drinking is still big business in the United States, and Anheuser-Busch's sprawling location in the San Fernando Valley has been playing its role since 1954. The company is now doubling down, with millions in new investments.

"Over the last five years, we've invested over $180 million in this brewery here in Van Nuys, including a $7.4 million investment this year alone," said Eric Gutierrez, general manager of Anheuser-Busch Los Angeles.

The money means stable jobs for workers and the community. The brewery produces 45 different products at the Van Nuys site, including Michelob Ultra, which is popular among beer drinkers.

"This new investment helps us brew even more Michelob Ultra, which is the No. 1 top-selling brand and the No. 1 fastest-growing beer brand in America," Gutierrez said.

Consumers in L.A. purchase more Michelob Ultra -- the official beer sponsor of the 2026 World Cup and the 2028 Summer Olympics -- than any other city in the U.S.
