LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A lengthy chase with an attempted murder suspect ended with a short standoff in a residential neighborhood in the Ontario area on Monday night.

The chase started at a parking lot near Parthenia Street and Tobias Avenue in Panorama City when Los Angeles police officers spotted a vehicle wanted in connection to a stabbing on Oct. 18 in Van Nuys.

According to to the Los Angeles Police Department, the stabbing victim is a woman who was taken to the hospital in unknown condition. It's unclear if she knew the suspect.

During Monday's chase, the driver led officers through the San Fernando Valley and past Dodger Stadium during Game 3 of the World Series before the chase continued into the San Gabriel Valley.

The back right tire of the driver's white Kia appeared to be completely blown out, with the vehicle driving on the rim. The suspect had difficulty maintaining control of the vehicle sometimes, fishtailing and weaving in between lanes.

At one point, the driver bounced off the center divider on the 60 Freeway. The driver later made a U-turn, driving westbound in the eastbound lanes. After briefly traveling the wrong direction, the driver turned back around, and the chase continued.
