BMW driver nearly hits cyclists during apparent road rage incident in Newport Beach

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. (KABC) -- New video shows an apparent road rage incident in Newport Beach involving a BMW driver and a pair of cyclists.

The incident reportedly happened on March 21 along Pacific Coast Highway.

The cyclists reported that the driver of a blue BMW veered into the bike lane as they traveled 30 to 40 miles per hour downhill.

According to the riders, one cyclist jumped onto the sidewalk to avoid being hit. They also said a passenger in the BMW threw water at them before the vehicle sped away.

Officers from the Newport Beach Police Department say an investigation is underway, but so far, no arrests have been made.
