The incident happened Nov. 17 after officers responded to reports of a man with a gun near Topanga Canyon and Roscoe boulevards. They chased him to Northgate Avenue.
That's where the footage shows him shoot at officers, prompting them to return fire.
The man, identified as 27-year-old Marcus Hayes, was wrestled to the ground and taken into custody.
Nobody was hurt in the shooting.
