Brush fire erupts along northbound 5 Freeway in Castaic

CASTAIC, Calif. (KABC) -- A brush fire erupted along the northbound 5 Freeway near the Templin Highway in the Castaic area on Thursday.

The blaze quickly moved uphill charring at least 20-30 acres.

At one point, the fire was getting close to some nearby power lines. A crew from Southern California Edison was called to the scene.

A car was seen on fire on the far right lane of the freeway, but it was not confirmed to be the source of the brush fire.
