Brush fire in Newbury Park prompts temporary evacuation warnings

NEWBURY PARK, Calif. (KABC) -- A brush fire broke out in Newbury Park Saturday afternoon, prompting evacuation warnings for several areas.

The fire, which burned at least half an acre, was reported near Lawrence Drive and Ventu Park Road.

The Ventura County Fire Department said crews made good progress on the fire, lifting evacuation warnings around 5:30 p.m.

No injuries were reported and there was no word on any damages to structures.
