Burglars hit at least 4 pharmacies in San Fernando Valley; suspects seen on surveillance video

LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- At least four pharmacies were burglarized early Friday in the San Fernando Valley, and authorities believe each break-in was committed by the same crew of thieves.

Surveillance video showed three suspects -- each clad in dark hooded sweatshirts and masks -- breaking into a pharmacy in Woodland Hills and pushing several apparently heavy boxes across the floor before carrying them away.

Burglaries were also reported at pharmacies in Northridge and two in Encino.

At the Encino Center Pharmacy on Ventura Boulevard, the glass front door was shattered during the break-in. LAPD officers arrived at the scene during the burglary as the intruders were fleeing.

The officers saw the suspects leaving the scene in a black Dodge Durango and gave chase, a spokesperson for the Los Angeles Police Department said.

The officers lost sight of the getaway vehicle near the intersection of Ventura Boulevard and Balboa Avenue, according to the LAPD.

Anyone with information is urged to contact police.
