The 2025 Bus Pull, an event organized by the Temple Station Sheriff's Outreach Foundation, was held to raise money for Eaton Fire victims.
Participating teams each had an opportunity to, literally, pull a bus! But it was really to bring everyone together to help those still struggling to get back on their feet.
"I don't think anyone realized what we were going up against," said Sgt. Andrew Serrano with the Altadena Sheriff's Station as he recalled the day the fire broke out. "Everybody around from the county, they came here with all one mission, just try to get everybody to safety."
The event was just another sign of the greater community's commitment to rebuild Altadena.
"Rebuilding is all about community, all about everyone pulling your own weight. In fact, pulling a bus is sort of indicative of the type of weight that everyone in this community can join together to bring Altadena back," said Los Angeles District Attorney Nathan Hochman, who attended Saturday's event.
