The crash happened on Oliver Street near Orange Grove Avenue around 5 a.m.
Officers and firefighters performed life-saving measures on the driver, a 20-year-old Altadena man, but he died at the scene, South Pasadena police Lt. Shannon Robledo said in a statement.
Prior to the crash, Pasadena police were chasing the vehicle but ended its pursuit in under a minute and stopped following the car, according to Pasadena city spokesperson Lisa Derderian.
After Pasadena police canceled its pursuit, the driver "continued almost one mile before the fatal traffic collision in South Pasadena," Derderian said in a statement.
The vehicle, a 2020 Dodge Charger, was reported as stolen in the city of Los Angeles Sunday, South Pasadena police said.
The driver's name was not released.
AIR7 was over the scene where there was significant damage to the home's garage. It appears the vehicle crashed through a fence and pillar at the bottom of a driveway, before the car collided into the garage in an upside down position.
Orange Grove Avenue was closed between the 110 Freeway and Columbia Street for the investigation.
