The crash occurred shortly before midnight when the suspect in an Audi struck another vehicle and rolled over in lanes near the Buena Vista Street exit, a spokesperson for the California Highway Patrol said.
The suspect was taken into custody at the scene, according to the Highway Patrol. No injuries were reported.
News video from the scene showed the CHP recovering a handgun from inside the overturned vehicle.
The circumstances that prompted the chase were unclear.
