The chase started when San Bernardino County deputies in Victorville tried to pull over the driver for an unspecified vehicle code violation. The pursuit made its way into Pomona.
It ended with the crash around 2 a.m. outside an apartment complex near Towne and Bonita avenues, according to the California Highway Patrol.
A view from AIR7 showed a blue sedan that appeared to be partially wrapped around a palm tree. Debris was scattered across the street.
The suspect, only identified as a man in his 30s, died. He was the only person in the car.
