The chase with Los Angeles police began when officers on the city's southside spotted a blue Lexus that was believed to be stolen.
The wanted car thief behind the wheel of the Lexus led police on a dangerous chase, primarily on the 10 Freeway, before he exited in the Pico-Union area. At one point, the driver hit two other vehicles on the freeway.
The chase came to a dramatic end at W. Pico Boulevard and S. Burlington Avenue when the suspect slammed into an innocent driver. Witnesses helped the innocent driver to the curb as the suspect took off.
AIR7 flew over the crash scene, where the two vehicles were seen badly damaged. A tire that came off one of the vehicles burst into flames after the crash. Officers managed to quickly extinguish the fire.
Meanwhile, the 30-year-old suspect took off running, but was quickly captured in a nearby business. He's facing a long list of felonies.
"This was really a bad situation when we thought he had a gun, and he ran into our warehouse, and we had a customer. It was a very scary moment," said Edward Paik, the manager of Todo Outlet Furniture.
Todo Outlet Furniture shared a video with Eyewitness News that shows officers with their guns drawn, chasing the suspect through the parking lot.
"Ran into my warehouse. Maybe he thought he could escape," Paik said.
The woman in the innocent vehicle was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
Detectives say the vehicle and suspect may be wanted in connection with other crimes.
