Chase suspect hits multiple vehicles, overturning 1, as pursuit ends in South LA neighborhood

SOUTH LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A police chase ended in a violent crash late Monday morning when a suspect struck multiple vehicles, including one that overturned, in a residential neighborhood of South Los Angeles.

The collision happened around 10:30 a.m.as the driver was attempting to flee from Los Angeles Police Department officers in the area of 84th Street and Budlong Avenue. Details about injuries were not immediately available.

Extraction tools and five ambulances were requested at the scene, indicating that at least one person was may have been trapped inside a vehicle.



The suspect was taken into custody at the crash site after crashing a possibly stolen vehicle.



Additional LAPD officers were summoned to the scene for crowd control and to redirect traffic.
