But about 70 years ago, the vintage propeller planes were used to train pilots during World War II and the Korean War.
Chris Rushing and Carter Clark are among 45 members of the Van Nuys-based Condor Squadron non-profit organization who keep history alive by flying the AT-6's year after year, training younger pilots on the challenging aircraft and honoring the men and women who have sacrificed so much for their country.
