ALTADENA, Calif. (KABC) -- Our ABC7 Cool Kid for Thursday, Sept. 17, 2015, is Trey Carlisle, a leader in his neighborhood who helps teach and empower youth.
Carlisle spends a lot of his time volunteering at a computer lab that is part of Neighbors Empowering Youth in Altadena to help kids stay in school.

He says his message is to inspire other young students to be positive despite hardships.
