The fire broke out in the 7100 block of south Pacific Boulevard, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
Firefighters arrived at the scene around 2:15 p.m. The blaze was first reported to be a second-alarm fire but was later upgraded to a third alarm, the fire department said.
The fire was knocked down at 4:08 p.m., according to fire officials.
AIR7 video showed part of the building's roof had collapsed as firefighters battled the flames from the ground and from a ladder truck. Several windows on the building appeared to be covered with wooden boards.

No injuries were immediately reported, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
