ONTARIO, Calif. (KABC) -- A semitruck driver was sentenced Tuesday to four years and eight months in prison for an eight-vehicle crash that killed three people on the 10 Freeway in Ontario last year.

Jashanpreet Singh was arrested in October following the collision and charged with vehicular manslaughter with gross negligence and reckless driving. U.S. Homeland Security officials said Singh was in the country illegally.

Eyewitness News obtained dash camera video of the violent crash, which shows the semitruck plowing into several stopped vehicles along the 10 Freeway.

Singh was able to obtain a commercial driver's license through state and federal processes that were in place at the time.

The process changed on a federal level just a month before the wreck.
