Dog falls out of moving pickup truck on 405 Freeway in Sherman Oaks

SHERMAN OAKS, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A dog appeared to escape injury after jumping or falling out of a truck window on the 405 Freeway near the Burbank exit, according to a witness who captured video of the incident.

A passenger in the truck held onto the dog's leash as the driver steered toward the shoulder on Sunday.

The dog did not appear to be hurt.

Isidro Lopez described what he saw as the truck moved along the freeway.

"The window was just completely open," he said. "Looks like somebody was back there just holding up their dog, and the dog probably just jumped out. Just out of nowhere, we just saw this big fluffy thing come out of the window. And obviously we slammed on our brakes right away. We had our distance, though, so nothing happened."



The California Highway Patrol did not respond to the incident.

No additional information was immediately available.
