Newport Beach lifeguards, bystander jump into action during dramatic rescue caught on video

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. (KABC) -- Dramatic new video shows the dangers lifeguards are facing as high tides and the chance of rip currents continues along the Southern California coastline.

Footage shows three lifeguards and one bystander jumping into the choppy waters to help a struggling bodyboarder at The Wedge in Newport Beach last Tuesday.

Thanks to everyone's quick actions, the bodyboarder is OK.
