Driver dies after slamming into big rig in Pasadena

PASADENA, Calif. (KABC) -- A driver has died after his vehicle swerved into incoming traffic and slammed into a parked big rig in Pasadena.

Authorities say the vehicle hit the big rig at a high rate of speed on Fair Oaks Avenue just before 3 a.m.


The driver was alone in the car and died at the scene. His name has not been released. The driver of the big rig was unloading at the time of the crash and was not injured.

The cause of the accident has not been determined. The crash remains under investigation.

Fair Oaks Avenue was shut down between Glenarm Street and California Boulevard for approximately four hours.
