Driver slams into front of Diamond Bar home after reported mechanical issue, deputies say

DIAMOND BAR, Calif. (KABC) -- Residents of a home in Diamond Bar were displaced on Saturday after a car slammed into their home.

The crash happened around 12:45 p.m. Saturday on Sunset Crossing Road.

Los Angeles County sheriff's deputies said the driver of the car claimed to have lost control due to a mechanical issue as they exited the southbound 57 Freeway.

Fortunately, investigators said there were no injuries inside the home or the vehicle.



Seven people live inside the home, but were forced to leave when city officials red-tagged the house due to extensive damage.



Deputies said the driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. DUI or impairment was not suspected in the crash, and no arrests were made.
