Pedestrian hit, killed on eastbound 210 Freeway in Pasadena

PASADENA, Calif. (KABC) -- A pedestrian was hit and killed on the 210 Freeway in the Pasadena area, temporarily forcing the closure of all eastbound lanes overnight.

The deadly incident happened at Madre Street Sunday night, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Witnesses reported seeing someone running across the roadway when they were hit by a vehicle around 9:30 p.m.

AIR7 video from above the roadway showed the traffic backup.

CHP officers were at the scene investigating the circumstances surrounding the deadly crash. All lanes reopened a few hours later.
