'Ferris Bueller's Day Off,' 'Rosemary's Baby' makes National Film Registry

WASHINGTON -- The movie "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" will be added to the National Film Registry.

Filmed in Chicago, the 1986 John Hughes movie is about a kid who skips class to go on a day-long adventure downtown. Ferris Bueller and his friends join in a parade, visit the Sears Tower and take in a Cubs game at Wrigley Field.

The 25 films selected in 2014 by the Library of Congress to be preserved as part of the National Film Registry:
