It happened along South Inglewood Boulevard around 1 a.m.
Video obtained by Eyewitness News shows damage to the backseat of the self-driving car. It's unclear what sparked the fire or if anyone was inside the vehicle at the time.
ABC7 has reached out to Waymo for more information. The company released the following statement:

While these events are rare, we take them seriously, work with local authorities, and remain committed to improving road safety and mobility in the cities where we operate.
